iOS and Android still leading smartphone sales. The most dramatic change was with BlackBerry (down 81%) and Windows (up 52%) albeit these systems are nowhere near the big two.

Your next smartphone could respond to voice, even when sleeping.

Mobile chip maker Qualcomm has unveiled a new feature called Snapdragon Voice Activation, that will allow devices such as smartphones, tablets, and smart TVs to constantly listen for voice commands, even when asleep.

Phone makers will be able to choose the exact phrase that will activate the phone, with voice recognition software like Google Now then being activated to accept commands.
